Mouth Care

Mouth care is important, but similar to hand sanitizing, we’ve taken this “cleaning” a bit too far. Make sure your daily mouthcare routine isn’t stripping you of beneficial bacteria!

Mouth Care

Rinse with filtered water, so you aren't reintroducing toxins and harmful bacteria into your mouth.

• Flossing is probably the most important mouth cleaning activity you can invest in. I floss every time I finish eating a meal and I like using the floss picks, particularly the ones by Glide: https://amzn.to/4sO18s2

• Toothpaste: Currently, I use coconut oil with baking soda as my toothpaste, but I've also used ATTITUDE fluoride-free toothpaste (EWG verified product): https://amzn.to/3UBTkLh

• Toothbrush: Currently, I use the Philips Sonicare Toothbrush: https://amzn.to/4r49ASf, but I've also used the Woobamboo bamboo toothbrushes: https://amzn.to/3HTFdcG

• Mouthwash: I use 2-3 drops tea tree oil in water - https://amzn.to/3HW3JKn

• Consider oil pulling as an addition to your mouth cleaning routine. There isn't a lot of "scientific" evidence out there on the benefits of pulling, but I have heard this ancient practice being promoted by Functional and Biological dentists and have found it helpful personally. I use coconut oil and will swish the oil for 10 minutes before spitting it into the trash can and then brushing my teeth.
